We started at 10 Am at Maria's house. The first thing we had to do was select the pictures to explain eBay we learned at the excursions. We separares the ones from school, La Lonja and the Cathedral. We pasted them to notebook and wrote download the explation for the presentation. In last place, we added animations to make the presentation more interactive and to allow our classmates participate. We've had a ver y good time although it was difficult.

Elena.

Today Gema, Marta and I went to María's house. First we ordered the photos we were going to include in our presentation and in the video. After, we worked with the presentation in notebook and we also used Windows Movie Maker to do the video. We had never used this program so at first we found it difficult to understand how to work it out,  but inmediatelly we got used to it and we even found it easy. When we finished the video we filmed a clip with the computer's cam to include in the video. In general we didn't have lots of problems and although it was hard work we had fun too.

In our group we had the theme of religion and monarchy. These are some of the photos will be included in the final video. They are sculptures from the Cathedral and the Lonja and all of them are religious. That is an example of how the power of the church and the monarchy also influenced public buildings.

Having realized the mayor part of this project, we can extract a final conclusion of this experience: In our oppinion we believe that the iTEC project has made us see through technology how can we learn new things by our own means without the necessity of been taught in a theoretical manner. The best way to learn is have means at our reach, use them, search, and open the eyes so we can learn by ourselves.

Mireia

Yesterday in class, Ms. Paula gave out the rubric for us to evaluate ourselves and the homework for Christmas vacation. During the vacations, que have to do a presentation in powerpoint or notebook and a video with the pictures from the day at Valencia including the recordings Mr. Boyer did. Luckily we had Carlos in our group, who is going to be in charge of the video while Gema, Claudia and me are going to organize the presentation.

Here I am, 10 a.m, organizing all the photos Ms.Paula passed to my pendrive last thursday. I wasn't able to do it before since we had lots of tests and presentations but now it's a good time to do it. We did a great amount of pictures although right now I only have the ones taken by Ms.Paula. Since not all of the pictures are good, the process of selection won't be that difficult. The ones I most like I'll upload them on Tuenti.
This is one of the pictured I've selected for the video. It's when we just arrived to "La Lonja".

Yesterday in Art History class we presented part of the project (the pictures taken in the cathedral and la Lonja). The Director, Ms. Taatem, the Principal of High School, Ms. Chapel and the coordinator in Spain of the iTEC project, Ainhoa Marcos were present in the class.

Ms.Paula made a general introduction about the project and later we exposed our part of the project. I think that the presentation was very good and both the introduction of Ms. Paula and the interventions of each group reflected the effort and the interest that we have for this project.

Later in class, in lunch time, we grouped together in the boardroom for the interview with Ms.Ainhoa. We talked about the apliation of technology in the classrooms and eventhough we agreed, there where  other points of view. Thanks to the interventions of Inma and Claudia the discussion become more entertaining.

We had a great time! Our group had to make the pictures and sculptures related to the Church and the monarchy. It has been very interesting because we understood how important both themes are due to the great power they had among the medieval society. It has been surprinsing finding in la Lonja religious sculptures because in theory the building was dedicated only to trading purposes, and in our point of view it has nothing to do with the Church. Anyway, we have discovered that in this time it was something very frequent because the Church was the center of the people's lives.

 Gema, Claudia, Carlos y Mireia

Our group had the theme of sins, monsters and hell. The great part of these sculptures were  gargoyles, at the inside and outside of the building. We found interesting the fact that many sculptures were hidden with vegetal motives in the windows and at the door frames. the great parte of the images were easy to understand and a few of them a bit vulgar. We think thta maybe this way they were able to draw the spectators' attention or to remove them from the sin and to scandalize them. It wans't easy to take pictures of all of the sculptures 8due to their height) but we have put lots of effort and now we have a wider vision of the medieval art.

Visita Valencia

Today, the three groups went at 10:15 to la Lonja de Valencia. Once there the teacher taught and explained us the building in detail. La Lonja was an important trading center and today is one of the most emblematic buildings of Valencia. Eventually, each group has been looking for gargoyle sculptures and others related to their themes. We have drawn a map where we placed the gargoyles, to know where to be found.

                                                                                                     Zulema, Inma, Pablo y Javi.

We post two pictures we have taken in la Lonja of sculptures related with our theme. The one in the left reprsents a knight riding his horse, related to the theme of war. The picture of the left represents a kid getting a snale, from the daily life theme.

CLASIFICANDO Y ORDENANDO IMÁGENES

7 diciembre

The students, in thematic groups, classify the photografies and give them to their corresponding group. With a list with the description of some of the works they try to identify images and witing their names on the back. This material will be required for the visit, day 13th.

With the images and descriptions, there are new themes such as; DAILY LIFE and MONARCHY, so we have distributed these themes throughout the groups.

HOMEWORK: Make recordings of the progress of the project using the page Team Up.

PROBLEMS: Not all of the students have web cam and/or computer at home. Depending on the computer and house, the page Team Up doesn't work properly, the students aren't able to record themselves or the recording can't be saved. so we decided to take out the videos to show them up at the blog.

In the last class, each group had some photos of gargoyles and a list of the name of each picture. The objective was to relate each picture with its corresponding title. At first it seemed a little bit difficult because it was hard to look for the title which best defined each image because the images weren’t clear. At last, we managed to do it and this way we are now more familiar with the gargoyles that we are going to study. We’ve written each title behind the photo and this way we can begin the project knowing what each gargoyle is.

EMPEZAMOS A TRABAJAR

Basically, our plan for this project is to go to Valencia, to the Lonja to analyze the gargoyles and this way get ourselves closer to medieval art. Today we’ve looked at some images of gargoyles and we’ve identified each gargoyle with a theme. This way we’ve decided the themes we are going to study for the project. After this we’ve decided which theme is going to do each group and my group has chosen the theme about saints so our work is going to be centred in the gargoyles that represent this theme. One of the main problems we’ve encountered is being able to make the page team-up function.
Elena.
